Meals On Wheels of Tampa wants to thank one of our devoted Adopt-A-Route Partners, Faulkenburg Jail (Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office), for going above and beyond the call of volunteerism. Their team donated food, books, games, and many more items to our annual Holiday Gift Bag project. The Holiday gift bags are delivered to our recipients in December as a way of saying Happy Holidays from MOW Tampa. Faulkenburg Jail has been an Adopt-A-Route partner for the past three and half years, delivering two routes (NE3 & NE7) every Friday. We are so grateful for this partnership and for the enthusiasm of each person dedicating their time and energy to our organization. To learn more about MOW Tampa's Adopt-A-Route Program, please contact Jan Costello, Volunteer Coordinator.

Meals On Wheels of Tampa hosts a series of Young Professional events and volunteer outings throughout the year, to give our younger supporters the opportunity to meet, network, and have fun, all while furthering their commitment to feed homebound and seniors in Tampa. Officially launched in May of 2011, our DRIVEN group strives to grow and attract new members each month. We hope you’ll join us at one of our upcoming gatherings!

Meals On Wheels of Tampa has won the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County’s 6th Annual Innovative Business Plan competition worth $25,000. The innovative business plan competition is part of the Children’s Board’s commitment to social enterprise which incorporates earned income to generate additional revenue.

Steve King, our executive director, accepted the first-place award at a recognition event at the Children’s Board on September 30th. The award will go toward helping MOW Tampa's new initiative, “Non Profits Helping Non Profits,” which will prepare and deliver hot, nutritious meals at competitive prices to other non profit organizations that have daily food services needs.
